The Travilah Parent Teacher Association welcomes new and
returning parents to the 2008-2009 school year.

The purpose of this website is to provide an additional source of information for
parents and guardians about PTA activities, membership, volunteer opportunities,
and issues impacting our school and/or schools in the Wootton Cluster.

Our PTA provides cultural arts programs for the students throughout the year,
before and after school student enrichment activities, various staff appreciation
programs, and also provides daily volunteers to assist in the office, media center,
and class rooms.

The Travilah PTA is a not for profit organization run and managed solely by parent
volunteers. All of our funding comes from membership dues and fundraising net
income. Our success depends upon your support. The best way to show your
support is to get involved. Join the PTA, contact a Committee Chairperson (or the
Volunteer Coordinator) or anyone on the Executive Board and they will find a place
for you. Even a few hours of your time can make a difference.   Please review the
President's Letter and To-Do List to get started.

PTA meetings are generally the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm and are
held in the media center. Although we alternate between general meetings and
Executive Board meetings all are open meetings and everyone is welcome to
attend. The minutes of each meeting are attached to the PTA newsletter and are
archived.

The President of the PTA publishes a monthly newsletter the Dolphin’s Splash
that is sent home with the youngest child in the family. The newsletter includes
PTA news, highlights of upcoming activities, and discussion of issues impacting
our school and/or cluster. Attached to the newsletter are typically important activity
flyers/forms, and PTA meeting minutes.

The Travilah PTA maintains a broadcast e-mail system for distributing reminders,
updates, and last minute information to parents/guardians. If you wish to join this
list please send an e-mail request to
president@travilahpta.org.

The real purpose underlying our involvement in the PTA is to provide a better
overall educational experience for our children. Here at Travilah we are working
hard to make that happen. Just walk onto our school grounds and into the
building, look at the faces, listen to the voices and you will reap the benefits of our
energy.
There’s a lot we can do as a group. Support our PTA!
